Scrapbooking for February Scraptures challenges

We had to do a POP UP card.. My first one ever and I know who to send it too as well :)

This is the inside of the POP UP card.

Valentine card.

Layout using old papers and I cut out grandma's pic and here's a pic of her famous galettes that mom now makes.

Based on a Creative Scrappers #20 sketch

My nephew and I playing guitar together for the first time at Christmas.

Another great pic of my man... all the leaves were cut out.

Out enjoying the outdoors during the Christmas holidays.

A cute post it note holder.. I actually used it today!

Sketch based on lyrics of a song by Kina Grannis entitled Valentine (check her out on you tube!)

We had to create a layout with the word sunshine.

Mom & me

I did layout based on the February sketch from Pagemaps.. and missed posting it for the contest by 1 day.. d'uh me.  Oh well.. here it is.  Mom & I live about 6 hours apart, so it's not often that we get together and scrapbook.  So this picture is very dear to my heart.

Scrapbooking Challenges

Each month, over at Scraptures, they post challenges... I joined their forum challenges in January and I must say, it has certainly got me creating.

Here are a few layout challenges I completed.

This one we had to use our scrap pieces of paper...

For this one, we had to use a song title or lyrics of a song.  I chose lyrics from the song "Valentine by Kina Grannis" (check it out on you tube). It`s a lovely song.  One day I will play it on my guitar and sing my heart out!  The lyrics chosen were "You & Me, found something pretty neat"

For this one, the challenge was a one word project entitled SUNSHINE.

I asked my husband to recall the time he had me listen to this song, so his journaling reads: "You were on a stakeout (Ì used to be a private investigator).  I brought you supper.  I left a card with a ticket for the Dream of a Lifetime House lottery draw and a note to click on the song on my computer desktop which was "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine" sung by children."  Isn't he the sweetest? LOL

Happy Valentine's Day

May your day be filled with love, not only for today, but each & every day!

Here's some sample Valentine cards that I made that were for sale at my local florist shop.

Hard work pays off.......lol

My dear friend Kelly nudged me to join the scrapbooking forum over at Scrap~tures and for the month of January there were several challenges for us to participate in.  I was away for 1 1/2 weeks during the month and when I got back from holidays on Jan 26th, I completed another 10+ to submit so I spent quite a few hours this past weekend as everything had to be submitted for Jan 31st.  Well my hard work paid off.. DH said I would win too.. WOO HOOOO.

So here's the announcement:  Winners

And this is what I won (1st prize): Prizes

My first time ever joining a forum and submitting layouts for a contest (other than at live crops where I did well too.. yes I'm gloating a bit)

So over the next few days, I will post some of my submissions......
